Your Everpure H-54 takes one replacement cartridge, part number EV9252-68. Some labels and listings show EV9730-06 for the same cartridge, and both numbers lead to the genuine Everpure part we stock. When the H-54 head already hangs on the wall of your sink cabinet, this cartridge is the one part you buy again. You change it yourself under the sink. The head has a built-in water shut-off, and that shut-off makes each cartridge change easier.
EV9252-68 and EV9730-06 are one cartridge
A box or a listing may show EV9252-68 as EV925268, with no hyphen. The label on one cartridge can show two of these numbers at once.
| Number on your label | What it means |
|---|---|
| EV9252-68 | The part number we list for the H-54 cartridge |
| EV925268 | The same part number with no hyphen |
| EV9730-06 | A second number for the same cartridge |
Our Everpure H-54, EV9252-68 Replacement Water Filter Cartridge fits the Everpure H-54 Drinking Water System. You get the replacement filter only, because you keep the head and the faucet you already own.
The number printed on your old cartridge settles the fit. A match on any number in the table above means this cartridge fits your H-54. Order by the number on the cartridge label, because the complete H-54 system has a part number of its own. Take a photo of the label before the old cartridge comes off, because you will want that number again at the next reorder.
If the label on your old cartridge has worn off, measure the system under your sink. The H-54 system stands 15 inches high and 5 inches in diameter. Call us with your measurement or with a label number outside the table, and we will help you match your system to its cartridge.
When your home has a second Everpure system, our collection of Everpure cartridges and systems lists the other Everpure parts we stock. If you plan filtered water at another sink, start with our under sink filter guide. It helps you choose a system for your water from our under sink water filters collection.
Each H-54 cartridge has a 750 gallon rated capacity
The H-54 cartridge has a rated capacity of 750 gallons, and it flows at half a gallon per minute. Rated capacity is the amount of water one cartridge filters before you replace it. At half a gallon per minute, a one gallon pot takes about two minutes to fill at the filtered water faucet. Across its full rating, one cartridge filters enough water for 12,000 glasses of eight ounces each.
How soon your home reaches 750 gallons depends on how much water you draw at that faucet. A kitchen that cooks with filtered water all day uses more of it than a kitchen that pours a glass now and then. At four gallons a day, a cartridge reaches 750 gallons in about six months. At two gallons a day, it reaches the same rating in about a year.
We offer replacement plans for Everpure cartridges on six or twelve month cycles, and the right cycle depends on capacity and water use. Write the install date in your phone each time a new cartridge goes on the head, and you will always know the age of the cartridge in use.
The shut-off on the H-54 head stops the water for the change
The shut-off on the H-54 head has a handle. You lift the handle to stop the water at the head, and you lower it to send water back through the new cartridge. The head mounts on the wall of the cabinet under your sink, and the cartridge turns into the head from below.
The H-54 installs with a separate faucet for filtered water. You flush each new cartridge through that filtered water faucet at the end of the change. Follow these steps in order:
- Lift the handle on the shut-off built into the head.
- Hold the head firmly with one hand.
- Take the old cartridge off the head.
- Line up the lug on the new cartridge with the label on the head.
- Push the new cartridge up into the head.
- Turn the cartridge to the right about a quarter turn until it stops.
- Open the filtered water faucet at your sink.
- Lower the handle on the shut-off to send water to the faucet.
- Let the water run from that faucet at full flow for at least 15 minutes.
You use the same nine steps at every cartridge change.
A new cartridge can show scuffs on its aluminum shell
The H-54 cartridge has an aluminum outer shell. A new cartridge can arrive with light scuffs or small dents on that shell. Those marks are cosmetic, and so are any carbon spots on the shell. You may also find a little carbon powder near the top when you open the box. The powder wipes away. Before the cartridge goes on, check the number on the new label against the photo of your old one.
The H-54 has NSF/ANSI Standard 53 certification for cysts
The H-54 has certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 to reduce cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia by mechanical means. The H-54 also reduces lead, rust, lime, scale and the taste and odor of chlorine.
