Collection: LG Refrigerator Water Filters

LG Refrigerator Water Filters

LG refrigerator water filters are the replacement cartridges for the dispenser and icemaker systems built into LG refrigerators. Depending on the model, the cartridge sits inside the fresh food compartment or behind the base grille, and every glass of water and every batch of ice passes through it.

These filters use activated carbon block media. Water is forced through the compressed carbon, which holds back sediment while the carbon surface takes up compounds that affect taste. Cartridges of this type are designed to reduce chlorine taste and odor, sediment, and heavy metals, and they leave the ordinary mineral content of the water in place. What reaches the dispenser is clearer ice and water without the flavor of the supply line.

LG has released a range of cartridges across its refrigerator lineup. The LT500P is a larger capacity option rated for up to 500 gallons before replacement, which stretches the interval between changes. The LT1000P is rated for 200 gallons and suits newer LG refrigerators. Because part numbers do not map cleanly to model years, the fastest check is the number printed on the cartridge currently in the refrigerator, with the owner manual as the backup.

LG suggests changing the cartridge once the rated gallon capacity is reached or roughly every six months, whichever comes first, and the manual for a specific model is the authority. Slower flow at the dispenser, or the return of a chlorine taste, is a practical signal to change it sooner. A subscribe and save plan keeps a fresh cartridge arriving on schedule.
