EveryDrop Filter 4 EDR4RXD1 for Whirlpool and Maytag

Oct 10

The EDR4RXD1 is EveryDrop Filter 4, and it is the OEM replacement for the discontinued UKF8001 cartridge. If the number on your old cartridge is EDR4RXD1 or UKF8001, this is your part. Whirlpool and Maytag refrigerators take it, and so do refrigerators from three more brands. You can order EveryDrop Filter 4 from us in four pack sizes.

Filter 5 and Filter 3 have part numbers close to this one, and each of them is a different cartridge.

The EDR4RXD1 replaces the UKF8001

A refrigerator that used the UKF8001 takes the EDR4RXD1 now, because both numbers belong to Whirlpool Filter 4.

The EveryDrop EDR4RXD1, Whirlpool Filter 4 also matches the system numbers UKF8001AXX-300 and 67003523-750. Either number on your old cartridge or in the parts list for your refrigerator points to the EDR4RXD1.

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, and here it means the EDR4RXD1 is the genuine Whirlpool Filter 4 cartridge.

Filter 4 fits five refrigerator brands

The EDR4RXD1 fits refrigerators from Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Amana. It suits bottom freezer and side by side refrigerators. On both styles, the filter compartment is in the top right corner.

If you own a Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air or Amana refrigerator, our listing still says Whirlpool Filter 4, and that is the cartridge your refrigerator takes.

The top right corner is where you find the old cartridge and the number printed on its label. Take a photo of that label with your phone, and the part number is at hand for the next change. The photo also helps when someone else in your home places the order.

The brand on the door is a good first check. Whirlpool refrigerators take more than one EveryDrop cartridge, and the number on your old cartridge confirms which one is yours.

Our Whirlpool refrigerator water filters collection lists more cartridges for Whirlpool refrigerators. The EveryDrop refrigerator filters collection lists more EveryDrop cartridges, and each listing shows its own part number.

Filter 5 and Filter 3 are different cartridges

The Filter 5 and Filter 3 part numbers follow the same pattern as EDR4RXD1. Each one starts with EDR and ends with RXD1, and the digit between them is the filter number. That one digit is the first thing to check on the label.

If your old cartridge is a 4396508 or a 4396510, your refrigerator takes Whirlpool Filter 5. We stock that part as the EveryDrop EDR5RXD1, Whirlpool Filter 5, which replaces both of those numbers.

Filter 3 replaces the older numbers 4396841 and 4396710. A refrigerator that took either of them now takes the EveryDrop EDR3RXD1, Whirlpool Filter 3.

Whirlpool filter EveryDrop part Older or system numbers
Filter 3 EDR3RXD1 4396841, 4396710
Filter 4 EDR4RXD1 UKF8001, UKF8001AXX-300, 67003523-750
Filter 5 EDR5RXD1 4396508, 4396510

A home with two refrigerators can need two of these parts. Check the old cartridge in each refrigerator on its own, because one may take Filter 4 and the other Filter 5. Take a photo of each label, and note which refrigerator each photo came from.

Filter 1 and Filter 2 have part numbers of their own, and our guide to Filters 1, 2 and 3 covers those cartridges. When the full number on your old cartridge matches the part number on a product page, that listing is the cartridge your refrigerator takes.

One cartridge lasts six months or 300 gallons

The EDR4RXD1 has a rated capacity of 300 gallons at a flow of 0.78 gallons per minute. Change the cartridge every six months or after 300 gallons, whichever comes first. Both limits count from the day you put the new cartridge in.

Spread over six months, 300 gallons comes to a little over a gallon and a half of filtered water a day. A home that draws less than that reaches the six month date first. A kitchen that fills pots and pitchers from the dispenser every day can reach 300 gallons before the six months are up.

The six month date is the easy one to track, because you can mark it on a calendar the day you put in the new cartridge.

Larger packs cover a year or more

We sell the EDR4RXD1 in packs of 1, 2, 3 and 6. Every pack has the same EDR4RXD1 cartridge, and the only choice is how many you want on hand. A 1 pack covers your next change. At one change every six months, a 2 pack gives you a full year of cartridges and a 3 pack gives you a year and a half. A 6 pack gives you three years.

A larger pack also suits a home with a second refrigerator that takes Filter 4. Two refrigerators on the six month schedule use four cartridges a year, and a 6 pack covers both of them for a year and a half. With a spare cartridge on the shelf, you can change the cartridge on the day it comes due.

A six month change is easy to lose track of. Subscribe and Save is the fix, because it ships the next cartridge on the interval you choose, and that cartridge arrives when the old one is due. You can adjust the interval, pause a shipment, skip a delivery or cancel.

Order Filter 4 by its part number
